25 1V 80 Soestduk ( Netherlands ) CDS Commemorating The Dropping of Food to the Dutch People by Bomber Command.Cover depicts 15 Sqn Lancasters dropping supplies to the Dutch people near The Hague in 1945 and RAF badge. In April 1945 German Commanders in Holland declared publicly that they could not feed the Dutch people. Operation Manna was a life saving operation between the Allied and Axis Forces with the International Red Cross acting as intermediary . During the period 29 April to 5 May 1945 aircraft of the Bomber Command and the US 8th Air Force, the German guns remainedsilent and their fighter remained on the ground. Flown in Battle of Britain Lancaster from RAF Coningsby on a low level runs in the same manner as 35 years ago when dropping food supplies to the Dutch people in the Rotterdam, The Hague and Amsterdam areas. Personally Signed by General Wijting Royal Netherlands Air Forece Chief of the Netherland Defebnce Staff. Who flew Spitfires , Hurricanes and Mustang with the RAF in WW11 and took part in the attacks on the Gestapo HQ in Copenhagen and the Peenemundle Rocket and Millile base. Cover depicts crashed Typhoon and RAF Mobile Dental Unit in the Western Desert in 1942 from a drawing by Gp Capt Karren and RAF Dental Branch badge. The RAF Dental Branch was formed on the 1st July 1930 with 27 Dental Officers and reached a peak of 909 Dental Officers during WW11. The Branch provides Dental Services throughout the World. Flown in University of Birmingham Air Squadron Bulldog T1 XX558 from RAF Cosford to RAF Halton by Sqn Ldr Mitchell then carried by road to the RAF Institute of Dental Health and training Halton. Reflown from RAF Kemble in a Red Arrows Hawk on a display over Lyme Regis on 20th July 1989 Team leader Sqn Ldr B.R.Hoskins RAF display time 20 Minutes Backstamped RAF Halton. Personally Signed by Air Vice Marshal D.A.R.Lean, Director of Dental Services ( RAF ) with Hampton Court 15p stamp. Orange Bulldog flight, red Red Arrows flight and black name cachets.
