15 Jun 91 BFPS 2293 75th Anniversary of 32 Squadron. Cover utilizes JSF 12 Miniature Sheet which depicts 32 Squadron de Havilland DH2, Gloster Grebe, Hawker Hurricane and BAe 125 CC1. 32 Squadron was formed at Netheravon on 12 January 1916 and fought in France in WW1 with DH2 Fighters. Disbanded in 1919 and reformed in 1923 again as a Fighter Squadron. During the inter war years 32 Squadron flew Snipes, Grebes, Gamecocks,Siskins,Bulldogs and Gauntlets. In 1938 Hurricanes were received and the Squadron was deployed to France before being based at RAF Biggin Hill during the Battle of Britain. In 1942 re equipped with Spitfires the Squadron deployed to Algeria and remained in the Middle East, Southern Europe , Cyprus and the Persian Gulf flying a range of aircraft until becoming a Communications Squadron at RAF Northolt in 1969.
